As-salamu alaykum (peace be upon you),

It has already been four months since we commenced our duties as your co-chairs; time flies! We wanted to firstly extend our gratitude to you all, for welcoming us into this space with such kindness and warmth.

We appreciate the support that you gave during our events for Islamophobia Awareness Month. We thank you for attending and engaging throughout! We would also like to thank all our wonderful guest speakers that attended, and contributed to some thought provoking conversations.

As we move into a new year, our mission is to focus on our five priorities:

  1. Senior Leader Support for Muslim Colleagues
  2. Mental Health and Islam amplification
  3. Speaking up safely (Truth to power)
  4. Providing a safe space for belonging and religious celebrations
  5. Provide Islamic Education to members and allies.

In order to do this, we are aware that we will need to recruit a talented team of people that can help achieve our set goals. As such, the following roles are currently being advertised:

  • Head of Allyship
  • Head of Career Development
  • Head of Mental and Personal Wellbeing
  • Employee Advocacy Lead
  • Senior Event Co-ordinator
  • Head of Communications
  • Head of Islamic Advice

Please be aware that these roles (like all roles within NHSMN) are voluntary and unpaid. Insha’Allah, our true reward will come from Allah (S.W.T).
